The Ward WATSAN (Water and Sanitation) Committees and Union Parishad (UP) level WATSAN Standing Committees (local government structures in the sector) in four working Union Parishads have been mobilized massively. As a result, they are actively participating in hygiene and sanitation promotion of their respective UPs and wards such as; conducting various ignition sessions, social mapping and community action plan development. In other words, they have taken the lead role to implement and achieve the ODF (Open Defecation Free) status in the UPs through a modified CLTS (Community-led Total Sanitation) approach.
