In Ethiopia, the water quality testing done in December 2015 showed that the water quality at the point of use (household level) has significantly improved. The results show that 36% of the 104 tested households are using safe water according to WHO standards. In January 2015, only 18% were drinking safe water. This is the result of different strategies designed and implemented by the community and the project teams, including giving particular attention to cleanness of water containers and its handling during water collection, which has to be regularly checked by tap attendants, water board and health promoters.
